CBA Reunion Tomorrow 1-5pm @ CBA

Food from Jersey Joe’s BBQ: no burger and dog show. The menu is pulled pork sandwiches, chicken, and barbecued beef brisket along with homemade sides and salads.

The event runs from 1-5pm; bring your spouse or kids if you wish but know that 95% of the guys show up solo.

Many of us go into Red Bank later for a night cap, so join us there if schedule doesn’t allow you the chance during the day.

To sign up, go here and have your Amex/Visa/MC# ready.
If you cannot attend but wish to sponsor a brother or faculty member, you can do that on this site as well.

$25 in advance or $30 cash only at the door.

Please tell others guys from CBA you are in contact with about the event.
We are trying to get as many guys as we can out for the day.

Drop me an email or comment below if you’re going to stop over.

Monitor Calibration

I recently had a bunch of photos printed via iPhoto. They came back a little on the yellow-side. I’m using the default color profile for my monitor (NEC 950). I just did a custom calibration and it looks like what’s in iPhoto looks a bit more like the photos that I received in the mail but not exactly. My question is this: will dropping the insane amount of coin that apple wants for one of their displays solve my color matching situation or am I better off just continuing to futz with my NEC’s profile? Thoughts appreciated.

iLife and iWork upgrades

When I was over at the Apple Store picking up my Macbook, my willpower caved at the packaging of the two new suites from Apple. And since I had a nice store credit in hand, I picked them both up.

Thoughts so far:

Cousin Mike’s Eggroll-powered Mercedes

200709271330

One of the local papers covered my cousin Mike’s trip across country in his DIY vegetable oil powered Mercedes. He showed me the setup several weeks ago. A big plastic tank (i think from a boat or something) sits in the back of the Mercedes wagon. He fills it with oil discarded by a local chinese restaurant and it runs up a tube through over the floor into the engine. It’s pretty fricken cool with the small exception that once the fryer grease congeals due to cold weather the car doesn’t run. Still it’s something to keep in mind for drivers who are south of Washington or so.
