Several years ago my friend John Carrico took me out to the beach in RI and showed me how to do extended exposure shots at sunset. I’m not half the photographer John is but I did get the chance to pass on some of his know-how to a friend of mine last night when we went out to do evening shooting from the public boat launch in Rumson. We scouted a few great locations which we would not have found without Hempstead’s encyclopedic knowledge of every westward facing water exposure from River Plaza to the Atlantic.
