Music for the week

Holy Halloween, who knew this album existed. Pretty wild excursions here that are worth checking out for sure. Just when you thought you knew what a guitar sounded like, along comes Prasanna to rock your socks off. Enjoy-

The View From the Top

I had the great fortune of getting to climb up to the dome of the statehouse today. Truly a once in a lifetime type experience. I shot a few pics that you can see on flickr. They’re very hi-rez so make sure to look at the full size and do some zooming.

The Google Bias. Is Yahoo the Fox of the Internets?

My muckraking Uncle sent me an email titled “Ten Good Reasons to Vote GOP” chockfull of such insightful chestnuts as:

The choice voters will make is whether they want higher taxes and less security by surrendering the tools used to combat terrorism or lower taxes and the continued use of tools like the Patriot Act, terrorist surveillance, terrorist interrogations and missile defense.

So I’d figure I’d google to see what wellspring of erudite learning and research was behind this progress-stifiling rhetoric. The funny thing is, it didn’t show up on Google. Yahoo on the other hand had plenty of references to it. Bizarro, is Google really filtering out this type of stuff or is it just a coincidence?

Wow, NJ.

In a 7-0 decision, the state Supreme Court held that all rights and benefits of marriage must be accorded to same-sex couples.

Who would have thought NJ would be second only to Massachusetts in evolving out of the 19th century?

Why do they continue to deal with the war in Iraq like it was some kind of ad campaign for marzipan-flavored toothpaste?
