Dan Gilbert’s research on happiness. Distilled.

So, Daniel Gilbert’s book has been pretty popular on a lot of the psychology blogs and neuroscience research sites. Perhaps rightly so. It is full of interesting and novel research on happiness. Anyway, it’s now made it’s way to the show with zefrank. If you don’t want to wade through the book and the footnotes and the research you can get the whole message in about 90 seconds right here.

Hmm, interesting. I appreciate the precis. And I feel like a Neaderthal because I only learned about Ze like two weeks ago. He’s pretty happenin’.

I’m listening to Lyle Lovett right now. He’s singing how “there’s more pretty girls than one,” so his mom’s advice is to pick one to settle down with. I guess that about jives with Gilbert.
