Time to lobby Kent for a sandbox at Pitney! I’d say this would be totally achievable and much easier if you dropped the treads part of the backhoe plans and just mounted the swivel directly to the corner of a nice-sized sandbox. Plans here. Totally doable by August!

I stayed home from work today to spend some solo time with El Duder before The Deuce (i don’t think Kel will let that nickname stick) rolls in. I decided a little team project might be in order and since we already have a list a mile long of things that i need to do around the house I, as usual, totally ignored it and just picked something totally random like Hmmm, I think we need a chalkboard in the kitchen.
So, one trip to The Home Depot, $25 and a few hilarious episodes of Jay struggling to put on his safety goggles later and we have chalkboard. This ought to take the Household Harmony Spreadsheet to a whole new level.

I believe that I solve problems and understand new concepts by way of analogy. Complex concepts become graspable when they’re related to or like something that I already understand. When I think about how groups (companies, governments, advocacy associations) should function outside of the scope of an analogy, they’re difficult to get my head around. But when I see these complex relationships as being guided by, say another complex system that I understand very well such Open Source software development, understanding these complex relationships becomes easier. Meaning — when I look at groups as being like an open source project — the principals of transparency, accountability, personal responsibility and enjoyment become clear guideposts for the success of a given group.

Ok kids, get ready!
With the c-section pushed back yet again, we’re literally sitting around watching the grass grow waiting for j’s sibling to join us. I’m burning off some excess brainergy by redesigning the WBB. Things may get a little funky over the next day or so but I hope you’ll agree that it’s worth it when you see the new site.
