Audio CD Import-fest

While getting organized around here I came across my audio CD binders. I started thumbing through them and realized that despite an 85GB iTunes music library (1414 albums), I’ve only ripped around half of my CD collection. So today, while I’m wrapping up a few projects that will need to go on auto pilot for several weeks while I’m out on new dad leave, I’m ripping a continuous stream of CDs.

There are a bunch that I’m kicking myself for not having ripped earlier. Two standouts are:

“Something Special” (Jim Hall)

and

“Subsequently” (Jim Hall)

Give Subsequently a listen.

It’s taking me forever to upload that track I link to above. It’ll get up there eventually. Why doesn’t anyone have a good webdav interface!!!

It takes a long time to dump that many albums into itunes, good luck, but i cant wait to see what you end up with. Oh a friend of mine might have a new version of the realbook pirate cd I’m waiting for details, but this could be a break through for my songbook. Gig went well tuesday, the bassist from Tommy Dorsey’s Big Band sat in on a few.

    (re, your gig)

one of the things that’s on my list to fiddle around with while I’m at home over the next couple of weeks is some sort of WBB calendar. I’d like to get your gigs on there, RPM’s, cool shows, etc. You cool with that? Anyone else think it’s a good idea?
    I’d need to:
a.) get a few key folks to commit to entering in stuff into a web-based calendar.
b.) find some way to differentiate between the NJ and RI events.

can I get a witness or at least a “yeah, I’ll take the 24 seconds to add cool events to a calendar” from a couple folks?

If anybody cares to know when my band is playing in Texas, I’d be happy to add it. Our next gig is coming up at the VFW Post 2150. Now that’s a classy joint.

Most of my day I sit on the laptop and watch Anna destroy all the things in the room that have yet to be anna-proofed. I would be willing and able to add to a webcalendar. then I can see all the cool stuff that is going on and am unable to attend because I am going to sleep at 9:15 so i can make it through another day with the “Annamal”

    …I be getting old fast

OK. The Subsequently track now downloads without a problem. I’ve also written a quick HowTo on converting AAC to MP3 files.
