WOW!!! science is fun

if i was on the equator at sunrise, and, thought it was just so beautiful that i wanted it to last forever, i would jump up into the air and fly west with my back facing west and eyes facing east at a speed of 617 mph. this way, the sunrise would always be in my sights.

Rhode Island iCalendar Subscription

Seriously now, how awesome is this? I’m delighted by several things here:

  • The sheer number of RI events taking place on any given day
  • i can subscibe to them via RSS and/or iCal
  • slowly but surely syndication/subscription of useful data is taking hold and the day may come when I do not need to open my web browser any more to wade through crappy html pages to find what i need.

Geek Cred

It’s a neck and neck battle for who’s got the most geek cred this week between Joe and Christopher.

Christopher wrote up step by step instructions on hacking the CVS video camera and Joe IM’d me yesterday to hip me to his new RI.GOV search plugin for Firefox.

First an all expenses paid trip to alaska and 35 lbs. of fresh salmon sent to my door. Next, Judas Priest live with Anthrax opening and now I have just learned how to “Blog This.” God Bless America!

Google Smarts

Do the following:
>1.) Open Google.com and type in the web search - miserable failure
>2.) Don’t click search, but click “I’m Feeling Lucky.”
>3.) What do you see?
