i wonder what the contributors to alternet.org would say about the hundred of people looting in new orleans in the face of a natural disaster. i suppose they would justify the looting somehow and criticize the police for using force to bring order.

i read another piece about a black man who was imprisoned for a long time for stealing a television. the article puts quite a bit of emphasis on the length of the sentence for stealing a television but fails to stress the fact that this man had a lengthy criminal record and a less than favorable behavioral report in prison.

i think thses types of news sites and blogs are easy to find for both sides of the fence. i will spare you the links to the hundreds of sites that would challenge the "facts" that ken has pointed us to. i am also pretty sure that if i post links to some pro-war pro-bush site it will be dismissed as crap by the very same people who wish to believe rants found on anti-war anti-bush sites.

so here we have two links to some sort of compilation of "facts" that are presented in such to lead us to believe the opinion of the writers. i could waste all of the wb readers with links to sites that provide "facts" and first hand accounts that are written and retold to lead us to believe the opinions of those writers who completely disagree with "facts" written by alternet and americanprogress. what amazes me is that alternet claims to be an "infomediary". they claim t tell you the real news.
read some of their "real news" and please try to understand that if you truly believe it to be the whole truth, then you are sorry.
web sites that make people feel better about their opinions are like assholes, everybody has one.

Chris,

I find it interesting that you attack the alternet site itself and then change the subject to the disaster in New Orleans rather than respond to the substance of the soldier's take on his mission in Iraq.

It must be very comforting to know that you are the only one who can discern what is "fact" in this world. Anything that disturbs your worldview is immediately dismissed as untrue.

FWIW, I held off posting these until after you posted some of your pro-BushCo/war opinions. I'm not going to debate you anymore. I just thought I would balance out your stuff with my own. Perhaps all of this would be better left elsewhere?

if you could only stop and try to understand that i didnt think it was worth it to post a link to a letter or interview with a soldier applauding the war and its successes. we could trade links all day. nobody is wrong, just opinionated. my opinion is that we need to be more aggressive with the middle eastern terrorist nations. you seem to think that we have taken the wrong approach.
there it is, two opinions...big deal.

on a lighter note, how was your vacation on the jersey shore?
i am sorry we didnt get a chance to play rumikub. that would have certailnly driven me to start smoking again.
just kidding, lol
