Miscellany

First off, jer was the first one to note that Nav’s top artist on Audioscrobbler is Def Leppard. Which in itself is only slightly less interesting than his personal profile on Audioscrobbler. LazyWeb request

LazyWeb I think it would be incredibly useful to have an AppleScript that parses the results of http://del.icio.us/api/tags/get? (returns all tags for a given del.icio.us user) and builds a del.icio.us folder with a set of feeds for each tag in NetNewsWire. Affordance

Affordance: What a great word! Finally a term to explain something that I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. I’ve been passively marinating on the power of an object to infer a suggested use, such that when said object’s power meshes with our own intuitive use of the thing a harmony occurs. Mostly this comes from watching Jay pick up random things and sometimes the object and the dude just mesh and he knows what to do with the thing he is holding. Other times, there is a massive disconnect, like when he tries to hammer things on his tool bench with his wrench and twists screws with the back of the hammer. Amazing thing, this brain of ours.

new beta of Yahoo! news

I rarely check online news sites anymore since I’ve started relying on NetNewsWire and various news source feeds. But if you’re still trapped in 2004 and visiting news websites for your daily updates, the new beta of Yahoo! news seems pretty sweet.
