The new version of Mac OSX comes out today. I ordered my copy a few weeks ago so i’m looking forward to fiddling around with it. David Pogue’s got a review of the new Mac OS in the NYT’s today (via Kent).

i have been having a hard time finding something other than streaming dead shows to listen to at work. i am limited to mindows media player because it is work machine and i cannot download any other apps without a tech. do any of you know of good sites that i can stream tunes to my work location? i checked out nugs but m any of the shows and sets end midway through. the radio stations also go in and out.
any help would be kind.
I’ve been making myself listen to new stuff from my collection on my walks to work lately and today’s pick was The Swimming Hour from Andrew Bird’s Bowl of Fire. I don’t know who gave me this album (Jer? Ken?) but it is really a great listen. Pretty eclectic and difficult to explain the sound. iTunes Music Store has it filed under Jazz. That’s a bit of a stretch. It’s not particularly formulaic so it wouldn’t fit neatly into pop or singer/songwriter. I’d say closer to a Van Morrison’s Astral Weeks in that the song dictates the form and style of each track. I’m pretty sure a live show would be killer and I’m surprised to see a gig slated for Providence.
It has become clear to me that some people just think they are too cool or too professional to be courteous. Lets be honest, some people are just too insecure to be polite or they are too pretentious.
