Apologies for the lack of entries lately. We’re a but busy around here getting prep’d for the B. On the news front though
Sounds of Silence details the rise of filtering in our interaction with the outside world. Towards the end of the piece there is an attempt to explain the effect of this filtering on democracy but it is fairly lightweight.
I wear headphones when I do my neighborhood walk but that doesn’t stop me from being involved in my neighborhood. If anything it allows me to see the neighborhood more clearly so I can more actively participate in my neighborhood association.

windows never fails to let you down. it’s webDav implementation which it refers to as “Web Folders” is about as broken as anything i’ve ever seen. webdav is great technology with incredible potential and windows refuses to speak the RFC spec’d protocol and instead insists on speaking some Redmond variant which is invariable optimized to work great when connecting to an IIS box but fail miserably when connecting to apache.
so with the above in mind, the willisbros mp3 site is currently only operational for those of you on *nix, Macs or using a webdav client.
i’m working on a browser based upload tool but i fear that’s really the wrong tool for the job.
