peter gabriel vs. the world

well, peter gabriel just moved up a couple notches on my list of crazy idealists. here’s one of his latest projects, called MUDDA (the magnificent union of digitally downloading artists). it’s too bad he doesn’t find a way to hook up with the creative commons folks.

Intimidation

Am I the only computer ILL-literate person who visits this web blog? I come to this site every day or two or three, and often feel that I am looking at hieroglyphics - almost recognizable symbols (words) whose meanings I cannot decipher. I love my man, Diamond Jimmy, but he’s too damn smart for my own good.

I’m a nonsense writer (with a little bit of thought thrown in), and writing letters through the mail to Diamond Jim, the words flow with the greatest of comfort and ease. Yet somehow with this blog I find myself intimidated out of submitting, with the feeling that I’m operating four college degrees lower than the next dumbest person in line.

Ah, what can I say? Diamond Jim, I love you. When we’re ready to take over the world, you be the brains and I’ll be a foot soldier. I trust you implicitly in both heart and mind.

The Commonwealth of MA has just released their open-source aware IT Standards. They took some heat for this a while back and have toned them down a bit, but it is still very forward thinking.
